Who Are We?
The Training Desk was first founded in the mid nineties as an internal organisation within Lynn Grove VA High School, offering services to the community over and above those generally supplied. Over the years, small profits have been made and the money has been ploughed back into the school. For example, the Training Desk has traditionally provided ICT services to a variety of outside agencies and has liaised with printers and photographers. More recently, they have opened a small stationery shop to sell mostly pencil cases to students and parents of students. The money raised in this manner has enabled the school to further invest in facilities for students and staff for the enhancement of teaching and learning.
Directors have changed since the mid-nineties, but David Evans has been there from the beginning. Over the years different directors have been involved with the organisation as it has continued to develop from its fledgling beginnings. All directors are keen to lend their support and individual knowledge and experience to the Training Desk.
The Training Desk are looking forward to continue with a variety of community based activities in the hope that the small profits made can continue to benefit the whole school community.
